Frankincense comes from a shrub native to Africa, India and South Arabia. In ancient times its spicy, balsamic fragrance was said to lift the prayers and desires to the gods. It has been used for many centuries to create a spirit of peace and contemplation and is said to relieve stress and anxiety by calming the mind. It has also been noted for its anti-inflammatory properties. Such a beautiful and unusual scent that is really subtle and uplifting. Add to a carrier oil such as almond to help fade old scars, mix with a few drops of water to dab on face as a toner. It is expensive but I have noticed a big improvement in the elasticity and brightness of my skin, and love the fragrance.
