Beautiful storage boxes made from eco-friendly lokta bark in Nepal. Used for centuries in Nepal for documents and scrolls, lokta paper is naturally resistant to tearing, humidity and insects. These boxes originate from a village paper co-operative in South East Nepal. The co-op, part-owned by villagers, employs 80% local women and supports some 126 families (over 1300 people). The paper itself is handmade from sustainable harvests and natural dye techniques. As part of the Absolute Essential campaign to provide earthquake relief in Nepal, the damaged Jiri paper business has been revived to encourage recovery through trade. Every box ordered helps to sustain paper production in Jiri and ensure a more secure and dignified future for traditional craftsmen/women and their families. Three sizes available to hold: 2 x 25ml bottles, 3 x 10ml bottles, or 7 x 10ml bottles.
